Toddler Room Ideas

I spied this image here and couldn’t get it out of my head. A black wall with a turquoise bed head in a little girls room. Something about this appeals to my vision for my own little girls room.
Luckily enough over the Christmas break we found an amazing timber bed head dumped on a building site, I will show you that in a minute but first the inspiration and what I love about each.
Charcoal wall and pop of colour bed
Simple monochrome styling, the stars on the wall teamed with one hanging
star, I love this but I need colour added in.
I love the idea that this room can appeal to toddlers, tweens and young adults. I also am in love with that drafting style cabinetry on the right hand side.
Again the mostly Monochrome colour palette with a small drop of colour and of course those drawers are my dream. Iamgine when the kids come home with all their artwork and paperwork being stored in there.
I must also consider the rugs that the children have in their rooms as all our floors are concrete. Geomteric is on my list……and don’t you love the ceiling being painted the same colour as the walls
I have also decided to add wallpaper to the kids wardrobe sliding doors. They were initially going to be mirrored but I felt this look would suit us being able to change the look later if need be.
I had always thought both kids would have a bunk bed for this idea of having a reading zone and sleeping zone in their rooms. I think its important to have a downtime area for kids and somewhere their friend can sleep when those sleep overs start coming into play.
So this is the bed we found, it needed a big sand and a few spots need to be filled as it was chipped. There was also a few cracks in the veneer, but we filled sanded and primed and then painted and its come up beautifully. So this is the bed going on the charcoal wall. What do you think?

  1. I gave a birthday surprise to my kid. I changed his plastic bed into a timber bed that I bought from Naturally Timber. I placed some cute stuffs on it for gaining his attention. He was so surprised to see that his cute little toy bed has changed into a big one. Now I feel like he is growing up a little. I am happy that my kid loved his gift and enjoys his sleep. Ideas like these always work.
