POPS OF COLOUR AND STYLE

I have alot of clients who ask me how do I decorate or design my new home so it doesn’t “date”
1st of all I try to find out what their preferred style is and then get a feel for their personal loves in colour and items.
If they have a favourite painting or rug and they just can’t get rid of it no matter the pattern or look, that can really dictate how the rest comes together.
I think the point of me saying all this is I think you get to a point where you have a core style and you just move things around the core as to what you are leaning to at the time.
If you love green but would never paint your walls that colour its as simple as a pop of colour in simple ways that can make a big green impact.
The above pic show a very common neutral, black and white theme but a hint of yellow but not to bold adds that little bit of personality to the room.
…….and in saying that the owners may get bored of yellow in times to come and its a very simple change.
I think zebra print never goes out of style its just how you add it in and work around it.
Going back to the Core style which is very neutral add just 2 pieces of zebra print and you have quickly transformed the room. If that zebra print had of been floral and a big floral artwork on the wall the look would be completely different.
So its as simple as a pop of colour or a styled piece to create an entire look or theme.
Of course my very own pops of subtle olive green to add personality to black.

  1. So so true, I would love to add a little zebra myself!!! I am a very nuetral person & love your olive green cushions, just enough colour to emphasize the personality in your style!!!

  2. A great post, pops of colour most definitely needed in the “Conlon Kitchen” right about now!

Thanks for taking the time out to pop over and comment on my blog. Trying hard to keep the blog posts coming, but so busy with the actual house!!

    Best wishes from Ireland,
