Bedroom inspiration needed. No, not that sort!
I am looking to style my bedroom.
I have so many styles in my mind that I am not sure which way I want to go.
I am of course wanting to do all this without spending a cent.
Hahaha……………I know. But there are ways.
I am great with paint and I am a bit crafty so I am going to try and achieve a slightly
Chinoiserie/Eclectic/Upcylcled feel with minimal cash.
What do you think, can it be achieved.?
I need some inspiration in the bedroom, and no not that sort
Now if I had the money there would be a few items on my list I would love to include, such as the rugs and throws above.
The stool and pouf below.
Some sort of buffet/sideboard just for decoration and design.
This rug. Yes its gorgeous. No I can’t remember where its from.
Emma Jay, I love your style
These gorgeous throws and cushions for the sofa in my bedroom.
These table lamps for my reading
This Gorgeous upcycled art for my walls.
This is the very last space in the house that has not been decorated and seeing as I can’t seem to make up my mind, maybe you can help.
as you can see I am bare…..no inspiration injected here at all!
This colour for my walls.
So please send me your thoughts ideas and any links of inspiration.
Im across the pond, but I just found your blog. I think the color you have chosen is a nice one. I am posting tomorrow a few of my favorite bedrooms so perhaps you may want to hop over to [http://mrgodwillhunting.blogspot.com] and you may find something to inspire you. I am a new follower.

How about a nice rug under the base of your bed, some bedside lamps and perhaps roller blinds and then full length curtains… Colours are a very personal choice but I do like that first image you have chosen… Good luck and can’t wait to see what you do! ;-)
Great inspiration! You have a great direction.
I love that foot rest- of course it got me thinking how I can make one…
I saw a few of those “Wall art” in an antique store last week, maybe $10 each, do you want me to see if they are still there?

I love the grey you’ve selected for your walls. If you can spend a little money on wallpaper, Graham & Brown has a paper that I think would be perfect on an accent wall, Charming in black:

Some other ideas… You could create an upholstered bed by covering your existing headboard, footboard, and side rails with batting & fabric. Paint your side tables cream and either replace the handles with handles in a brushed gold finish, or spray paint the exiting handles. If you don’t do the wallpaper, a pair of curtains with a big modern graphic pattern, or simple grey curtains if you do use wallpaper.
I bet you could create a pouf like the one you posted yourself. I saw a project for Christmas ornaments that’s a similar look – I think the ornament was made by cutting felt into circles, then folding the circles into four and pinning them to a styrofoam ball. Of course, pins wouldn’t work on a pouf, but I’m sure there’s another way to create the same look.
Here’s the ornament tutorial:

Whew, sorry for being so long-winded! Hope these ideas give you some inspiration for your room :-)
Well paint is the most economical way to change a room, so you’re off to a great start! Love the colour you’ve chosen too. I have other ideas, but they involve spending some money:-). However, i think you could bring in some flowers on the bedside tables in a cute vase(another economical way to freshen up the look). XX
Your bedroom looks like it is a great space. I was going to suggest the same as Kelly – to upholster your bedhead. You could also look at running a soft curtain the whole length of the room behind the bed to soften/hide the window which is not quite symmetrical allowing your chosen paint colour to softly show through and your new upholstered bedhead to ‘pop’.
We are about to do our bedroom too as it is the last room in the house to finish – why is this always the way?
I have enjoyed catching up on your latest posts – your sons birthday looked great. I’m sure he will remember it for a long time.
Wishing you a great week. Michelle
Sounds like fun, I love your choice of colour, all of my thoughts cost money, like rug, lamps pendant light, oversized mirror, doesnt a budget spoil all the fun!
Good luck!!!
Definitely the Grey base for your walls. It’s such a calming colour. Have a look at our bedroom curtains in the sugarcube, they are very simple & I never tire of them. The wall art is perfect and could go on your blank wall beside the bed. Your ideas are fab. Jx
