Standing the test of time.

Is Danish furniture really Retro or is it just fantastic style that has been so well built and designed we have no choice but to start appreciating it for more than yesterdays trash.
I am truly embracing the up cycling and eclecticism that comes with this style.
More and more when I look around for furniture that I can re use I am finding this style to be more readily available at great prices. But in fantastic condition is that just a coincidence or has it been built to last the test of time and fashion.
Is my mind being flooded and don’t realise it really isn’t a style I should follow or is it really here to stay…..and how to I mix it back with my Chinoiserie, worldly, contemporary style I am currently working with.
Well if I listen to my own posts I will realise its part of the eclectic style to mix back items from different eras with a theme. So maybe its just how I dress the furniture rather than what furniture I use.
Obviously this conversation was purely in my head but now that you got to share, how about I show you what I am rabbiting on about.;)
Is it just me or this really ultra cool
Note the dining chairs mixed back with great modern surrounding features.
……but just 2 chairs in the room will make a beautiful added piece of personality.

I would have added a big bunch of fresh flowers on the table but that light and sideboard is the hero.
Spot the danish designs that look so stylish.

  1. I am partial to the retro sideboard & have been trying to find the perfect one for years. Adam is not at all partial to retro sideboards… so, I’m thinking that the light coloured modern version above could be a good compromise. I also have to agree that the light is delish! It reminds me of the hand blown italian bocci lights I am lusting after.
