We have decided that concrete floors will be the way forward for us and the feel of the home we are looking to create. We can see ourselves living with concrete in the bedrooms also and I have thought long and hard about the meaning behind this decision.

I will come clean the vision has popped into my head of hosing out the children’s rooms when the smell and mess all becomes to much. OK that wont ever happen because my children look as though they have inherited my ocd ways of needing everything in its place and everything to have a home

See that rant was over early it usually comes much later.

So I started doing some research as I do

and I found many people/images of rooms that have concrete floors in their bedrooms and I think the key is to create a layered soft effect with the other pieces in the room.

Obviously it depends on the look you have going on but for me I want a clean contemporary tribal look with a little bit of fun.

This is a little stark for me but I love the dark timber and white

Here is a great use of all the jewelled tribal colours with lots of layering. Maybe a little too casual for me.

The timber and gold is keeping me thinking

This timber bed head is probably one of my favourite images and its only now I have noticed its with concrete floors. So I love it even more.

Concrete on the walls will make you see the need for the fireplace  but this is a great example of creating a warm look in a cool space

Strong warm colours again help add warmth 

This timber wall is perfect but I think I might reserve it for the living area

Love this room, very clean lines, soft curtains and crisp white, i feel it needs something more.

I think I have worked out now, I can happily use concrete in the bedrooms but I will need rugs, curtains and some warm colours in the bedding.
