There is Graffiti on the Armoire
I found this Armoire that was commissioned by Furniture Designer Douglas Homer
and it inspired to me to delve further into adding Graffiti Art to items other than walls. If you follow my Blog you would know I am a fan of Street Art and determined to bring it some positive influence in the land of design. Here is some more places you could add your own graffiti touch if walls are not your thing. I love the meeting of these two styles above, the classic sophisticated Armoire meets street art honesty. If this piece of furniture was a movie it would be ‘Pretty Woman”
So there is graffiti on the Armoire…….
…..and the bangle
and the phone cover
and under the shoes
and the laptop
there is graffiti on the cupboard and the Wing Back
there is some tagging on the Carver
The buffet also got a spray
Graffiti on the wardrobe
Tagging was used to design the legs of this chair
Graffiti on the inside
and the outside of the entertainment unit
There is Graffiti in the kitchen
and graffiti at Ikea
Someone Graffitied the cushions
This pendant light was given a street art moment
Now a note to all street artists, this is what would happen if you asked a designer into your world.
We would wallpaper the dumpsters and possibly the side walls of buildings.
For me tagging is not art but Graffiti is (depending on your definitions) so I like giving street art a voice in the design world.
I quite like it under the shoe and as your open the cabinet – nice little touch of detail.
