The Chestnuts 11, My build update
Tuesdays I have unofficially (in my head) decided that I would give you some Elementsathome build up dates and we will call it The Chestnuts 11.You will be able to hear my ramblings, see my research and follow my decision path for all our items……and I will tell you why the title later.
The designer came to us with an Addenda of selections he thought would work well with our design.
OMG, they are all beautiful items…..you know top of the wazza (not sure what wazza refers too but…..) toilets and baths and the front doors. So I started seeing our build getting away from us and then leftovers being just that, leftovers. I need for us to come out of this with extra funds for a new dining table, pendant lights, wallpaper. All the essentials right!
Anyway I decided I would research Bathrooms first and then go from there. I had previously mentioned concrete but I think we may do a mix, let me know your thoughts on these ideas.
So can you see where my Bathroom Mood board is heading. A little timber inclusion.
Let me know if you have timber/ timber look in your bathroom I would love to hear about it.
Some gorgeous ideas here – love it!! x
Thanks for visiting lovely and leaving a comment……always appreciated. ;-)
oooh – i love the last photo – we have just signed off on our new bathroom using those exact colours – i was a bit nervous but seeing that beauty has me very excited !! mel x
Oh wow Mel, I look forward to hearing how it goes. Or even some pics…. Thanks for visiting.
I LOVE these images and adore the inclusion of timber, especially if your’re featuring alot of concrete elsewhere. It adds warmth both tactile and visual and also absorbs noise! I think your idea of combining different flooring can work well as long as you stick with a uniform tile in all tiled area so there is still some continuity. Hubby built a house at Avoca Beach which had timber, tile and concrete flooring. I featured it in many posts on my blog so have a peep. Concrete in the bathrooms is very slippery so tile is used in wet areas. He’s currently doing another house at Point Frederick which I’m about to do a post on. Same concept, different architect…Looking forward to following your exciting project and the name choice reveal. Intreuiging! x KL
KL, thanks for all your ideas and input I really appreciate your knowledge. By the way I found out that product I was after is a new Aluminium panelling……very cool but very exxy. We have rethought the concrete in the bathroom and may consider the tile option. Still waiting for costings to come back. Fingers crossed.
Why oh why is the good stuff so expensive. Frustrating! Thanks for letting me know about the siding. What company is it? I’d like to show hubby. Perhaps using it as a feature somewhere externally might be an option if the facade lends itself to that sort of thing of course! X kl
The wooden cabinets add a lot of warmth to an otherwise cool place, I think thats why theres so much charm about this type of cabinetry. I really like it, I think its a brave choice but it is going to get lots of ohs and ahs I can guarantee!
