Industrial Goth Chic or Fun Skull Decor

With the ever increasing amount of Industrial and Eclectic Vintage styling the room for quirky fun pieces is becoming apparent. We are looking for personal talking pieces, conversation decor with fun.
As designers, home owners and decorator enthusiasts we long for the perfect space. We wish we could emulate pictures out of magazines or from our favourite websites or images hosts but all along forgetting that Interior styling can be fun.
I think skull decor (or Industrial Goth Chic, I just made that up) although some can say can be dark or somber to look at I think there is an alternative way of thinking about them. We need to create our favourite room with all our passion and loves and personalisation and add a 5% fun. You may do it with colour or you can do it with a quirky piece like a skull but let me tell you skulls will be one of those pieces that will always be fun always be decor relative and always sit well with any style. Its all just a matter of how you want to introduce your skull.
You need more convincing don’t you.
I am a bit of a fan and although I couldn’t make my focal artwork a skull I love this mix.
Actually I think this would be really cool for 1 at each end of my dining table.
A simple cushion adds quirk to a rustic industrial Nordic bedroom.
I have mentioned before about dipping your toe in to certain styles that may not be comfortable this is the sort of piece that can be a skull addition without making too much of a statement.
I think displaying a skull really is determined by how you feel about the overall look of the skull.
some skulls look real, some look scary, some look obviously fake.
So as much as I like the beading the actual shape and look is a little scary.
A simple addition of a cushion, just 1, can make your fun statement.
Love this natural background that incorporates a small addition of skull on burlap.

Its a little bit Goth regency, don’t you think.
So maybe you could add an animal skull to start you off. A little less confronting.
So how do you feel about Skull Decorating are you off to get yourself a piece or its just not going to happen. I noticed they had some gorgeous money box versions in Myer the other day. You never know that could be the start of my addition.
