My Vignette update and Dining Room before and After

This is the Vignette I was telling you about here
This is our secondary Dining Room the one that sits with the kitchen and the one that everyone stops at to put bags down or where we as a family eat very day……….ahem or fold up the washing.

It’s also the one we (I) sit at when we (I)  have guests over for a coffee and a chat as well.
Husband does not have friends over for Coffees and chats that’s apparently just for us girls he informs me.

Anyway, it was time to  give it the love it deserved. So I set to task.
Research first and then go Elements Shopping.
The shopping you do around the house, gathering items that you already have to create a new space.
Leaving a trail of design destruction in your wake. I will get to those spaces again, I promise.
You can see here we are also in the middle of painting.
The colour you see the majority of is Dulux Ecru, great colour and I have used it many times for Clients but I am more of a fan of the Dulux Buff It, which is the stripe.
The stripe is the patch up from installing a power point, chasing the wall and then re plastering.
So the rest of the room will be Buff It very soon.

On my shopping trip at Elements at Home….wink,
I found this Black Rug and CD DVD cabinet.
It fits the space perfectly and does not intrude into this little awkward shaped dining room.
Gathered the goodies for a practice run on the dining table.
The coloured pieces you see are part of my new collection of goodies I will be opening my Etsy store with.
If any of them are of interest to you, let me know and I can email you a price.
The little Orange and Yellow do-nut bowl is care of Mr 4.5, its an original 1 of a kind this one is priceless so not for sale. He is so clever knowing Mummies colours of choice at the moment.

Just to give you some thoughts on Vignettes, Blu tack or similar to keep standing frames from slipping is my essential tip. Front to back this CD Unit is very narrow so the selection of objects had to fit.
The other one of my tips after choosing your style, The tick, triangle or symmetrical is allow each item to breathe.
Don’t but everything up. Keep some air around each piece.
Keep your theme simple. My theme was more about colour than objects…….and obviously I was limited to the store I bought everything from……wink again. Remember they are all from around the house.

The casual dining Before and After.
A Rug to anchor the room. Some furniture to fill the open space and create interest.
The Vignette for colour and personality.

So there you have it. Some fun Vignette, Dining room makeover tips.
I hope your weekend is treating you well.
