EXPOSED BEAMS

I love the idea of Exposed Beams and even tried to have them designed into our previous home but much to my dismay I found out it would cost us way too much to insulate and at the time we just could not afford it.
After reading about and seeing some of my other favourite bloggers out there looking at or deciding about the beams I decided to look into them further.
So this idea went into the design file of the future and will hopefully come back one day.
They are a very classic look and they really bring home that rustic look, which I just adore…
I have to point out though for any of you Feng Shui enthusiasts Exposed Beams are not recommended in bedrooms as they are considered to stop the flow in a room at each beam and if you are laying under them the flow of energy is also stopped in your body at each beam.
If this is unavoidable its as simple as putting up a 4 poster bed and wrap some fabric over or use a canopy to create a new energy.
They are also not recommended for studies/offices or genreal work areas…again stopping the flow of energy.
Even steel beams add a rustic feel in certain styles
A love that a little bit of structural engineering can look so good.
