Nursery Update 2011
Nursery Update #2
I am travelling well with the Nursery or so I thought.
I waited for Wallpaper samples to be shipped from the UK and although they didn’t arrive the 1st time around the company was extremely quick to resend and provide me with a 10% disc voucher for my troubles.
Now Husband has decided spending $240 on 1 wall with a double wardrobe door on it may not be in our best interests given the amount of money we still have to spend on Bathroom Reno’s, storage and and some new kitchen cupboards in the next 12 weeks.
The Little Girl is to arrive in about 12 weeks and luckily I have chosen my colours and happy to stick to them closely.
I am wondering if you don’t know already can you pick the colours yet?
I have decided the Nursery still needs colour but not an overload of it as the furniture is dark timber.
So the same wall will now be painted to tie in with a new idea I have.
Maybe a coordinating ceiling colour could work but given my colour choice I would think baby will lay in her cot staring up going…..Oh My Goodness, what were my parents thinking.
So now for the reveal, yes the Amy Butler fabric below is my source of inspiration and I am going to colour match one of the colours from the fabric below paint the previously ear marked wallpaper wall and then cover a large-ish canvas for the opposite wall to bring it all together.
I am also finding it difficult to source this fabric in a big piece here in Aus so if you know where I can get it uncut…..please let me know.
Just in case you can’t see the image go here
I have made some coordinating pom poms ready to hang in the corner but I am loving these cranes hanging from the twigs in the corner of this pic also….
So what are your thoughts? Which colour should I choose for the wall colour opposing this beautiful fabric…
The aqua or one of the pinks?
Help!
Oh My..so much to choose on and decide upon. I love all of your examples..and the Amy Butler fabric is divine..and would be something I would have chosen if I was having a girl. I think the colour of the room is the most important…it should be calming and tranquil..too much colour can often over stimulate the mind of our little ones. I think something along the lines of the first image ..perhaps just a feature wall to add a splash of colour..but not overpowering the room..especially if the furniture is dark. I would pick up on the colours that aren’t so obvious in the Amy Butler fabric..there are some beautiful coral and peach tones in there which would look amazing against aqua. Im sure that whatever you end up deciding it is going to look absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to see the end results. How exciting for you !! YAY !! Anna x
Hi K!
I love all the inspiration pics, but can’t see the fabric picture. Do you have a link I can follow, so that I can check it out?
And, only 12 weeks to go? Wow! Exciting!!

Anna I am with you, I love the 1st pic and maybe you have convinced me to follow the pink/coral avenue to bounce the aqua off.
I am going to pop in and visit your blog soon to get a catch up.
Take care xK
M, I have added a link in case you still can’t see the image.
What do you think aqua or a coordinate? I know 3 months sounds much further along than 12 weeks….lol. I need to catch up on your build.x
pink, pink, pink! A-M xx
A-M, I think I am seeing a common colour here from my lovely readers.
I am hearing you all mention…pink! lol…
Love your choice of fabrics, I can’t wait to see it all put together, I love the aqua but I do love pink.. a hard decision. Mimi xx
Oh yay, can see it now! I’m leaning towards aqua. If I can remember your main wall colour, I worry that the paler pinks would feel musky (?) against the main wall colour and the darker pink may be too dark for the little lady.
But, I do love pink. Maybe one of the mid-pinks. What are you doing for linens?
Trying hard not to be clucky right now!
