2011

Decor trends for 2011 and 2012
This will be a great go to board for decor inspiration for the coming year.
I have mentioned before the paint colours that have been selected for the next year but decor hasn’t really hit yet….I have sourced and found some ideas that will help you to recreate the looks ahead with what is going to be prevalent in either colour, texture, pattern or theme.

The colour predictions for 2011/12 are glorious vibrant jewel colours; emerald, ruby, teal blue, coral, peacock blue, buttery golden yellows, turquoise, all supported by the use of gold, luscious thick creamy creams, ivory and warm white.

Warmth, texture, layers, opulence and luxury are key for 2011 and beyond with an Egyptian theme of blues greens and golds emerging……and time for a breath.
Violet and purples will be less popular in decor available for 2011 as are the cooler we will also not see much in the colour range of chalk, grey, brown and the monochrome, but we will see taupe and silver and  grey being being used with the luxurious colour of velvety black in soft furnishings, lamp shades and extras to support the vibrancy of the jewel colours. The coming years will see a wonderful mix of positive colour. In textiles watch as velvet makes a come back……..
But you knew that right because i posted about it during the year

Elaborate items made from wrought iron and wood and metalwork or blown glass are representations of Egyptian elements that will be another flavour flowing through form the East

Decors will include ornate and hand carved wooden furniture and geometrical patterns on beautiful natural fabrics. Baroque tables and wooden hand painted chairs with Turkish accents and even the use of expensive gold leaf to recreate that opulent period in time.
