Thursdays a few of my favourite things. Tables in the Kitchen.
Once I started looking I couldn’t stop, I searched everywhere for images to help support my case that having a dining table in the middle of the kitchen can work.
I really love the look and agree a lower table may not be as usable as I imagine but maybe a tall table will just appear like a tall dining table and provide the benefits of a kitchen bench.
Everyone wins!
Everyone wins!
The other thought is, I am not the most confident cook and having my guests sit amongst the action could get me a lot more hot under the collar than I would like. If this is the only option for dining however, I would just make hubby cook a BBQ. Again everyone wins.
Now when it looks this stylish, who cares how good a cook you are everyone should be looking at the gorgeous surroundings anyway.
And you all wondered if you can have wood floors with your wood cabinets and wood bench and wood stools.
With this much lighting and this much space, its so stunning of course it works.

Love the bench here and the personality injected into this space.
This is truly an inspiring space. When you find a style or theme you love go with it and do it with conviction.
This is the outcome of positive styling.

The country farm house you wish was yours.
Just the over height dining table I was talking about previously.
It looks seamless
This look can work in any style. Again this room is done with conviction and the look is pulled together with confidence.
These are the circumstances where trend doesn’t exist as the style is so strong. This is the best way to design your home with style and a touch of trend sprinkled around.
Move able bench, dining. This takes my shyness of cooking in front of others to a new dimension..
I can just roll them away, outside even.
Love it, the brick style tiling in here also needs a mention.
I am a little concerned that we got a little over excited when it came to choosing the pendant though.
What do you all think, too big?
Perfect, personality in here for sure. This is never needing to change.
You know I love a timber bench……
I really love this look but it wouldn’t work in our kitchen the way it’s laid out unfortunately. My grandparents’ kitchen used to have a big table in the middle which doubled as bench and preparation space – it had a really homely, country feel to it. I really love the image above with the blue stool and ‘personality’.
A dining table can definitely work in the kitchen. Great place to eat, and it can also double as an extra work space (as long as the height is suitable for it).
Beautiful inspiration pics :-) The second kitchen with the wood table & chairs and crystal chandelier is probably my favourite – love the combination of wood & glam :-)
And speaking of chandeliers – I say go big or go home! Better for it to be too big than too small :-)
Yes, I would have to agree that the dining table works in a kitchen. The inspirations you have here are just lovely! Enjoy the beautiful day, Kellie xx
I think the second last kitchen with the armchairs would mean you could stay in there forever!!…. Definitely ‘in the kitchen at parties’. Thank you for this post. So lovely to see what others do…
I agree – it can totally work! Plus, space is of the essence – so why have a separate dining room that’s only used once or twice per year? Maybe I’m just not fancy enough to fancy a fancy dining room. :)
