Float like a butterfly

My latest project involves finding creative ways of storing and displaying some favourite items
in a smallish area.
What are the items that need to be displayed and how can we make them look more “decorative”
I have to say slightly tacky snow domes and old tee ball trophies are not the most decorative items but we may have a solution in how to store or display.
Here I will share why…
Floating wall shelves and cabinets are my new friends.
In the kitchen
Sometimes overhead cabinets can be overwhelming for smaller areas and if you are a tidy person, lets face it not all of us are then open shelves can work as both storage and a decorative solution.
In the Dining Room
This is a perfect way of adding personality to an area with having to move hooks and nails every 6 months when your style mind changes.
In the Living Room
If you don’t have a mantle above your fireplace, you can create one with a floating shelf.
Book shelf just won’t fit anywhere, try the walls.
I love these decorative little cube boxes.
Floating cabinets mean you can still see the floor below creating space
and hiding all the necessities
In the Entrance
You may need more than a console table at your front entrance
and these are a perfect solution.
In the Office

In the Bathroom

In the Bedroom
Just when you thought there wasn’t a place for your favourite urn.

  1. Hmmm, I think you have given me some ideas. Not that we are renovating right now but some of those images will have to go into the ideas file. I really like that entrance shot with the pink umbrella. Thanks! ;-)
