Channel Tween

You may have read my previous post regarding my new clients I have, 3 tween(the age between child and teenager) girls.
All of them got given the full Dulux colour spectrum to work with and they have chosen some really amazing colours to work with.
2 Bright Greens and 1 Bright Blue.
In my research for Tween Girls bedrooms I found there was some sites dedicated to girls bedrooms but they were mostly pink…so I had to look deeper to find these unconventional bedroom themes and thought I would share what I found.
I love the idea of daybeds in young girls bedrooms, I think this is me going back in time to remember my younger years and my longing for my own daybed……because it looked like I had a sofa in my room which would have been so cool.
Can you remember being a tween.
Well I remember I knew so much more than my Mum(tongue lodged firmly into my cheek saying that) and I had a very clear view of what I visually wanted in my bedroom especially when my friends came over.
Still channelling 10 year old me…
and I have decided these are the design elements I would have had in my room if I had of had the option of demanding tween style.

Large Murals
Over sized decals

Cool storage and wall pictures
Stylish storage
Devine lighting
4 post Beds
Dramatic draping

More devine Lighting

Blue walls are so tween girl chic
ahem……Uber stylish Tween alert…
A bench seat and a Togo Sofa……
You may just find a pic of my new room looking a little like this.
Actually Hubby would never agree
I am impressed
I get the circles but there maybe 1 too many.

A Tord Boontje pendant in a tween room…
actually I love it….

Perfect amount of circles and storage.
I love real style.

  1. That’ funny, think we were reading each others blogs at the same time! I love a seamless kitchen as well, but as someone who tidied up after Rose for many years, don’t think that will happen! Better the food, messier the chef :) Look forward to seeing these girls rooms – bit of a hole in the design spectrum for teeneged girls, isn’t there?

  2. Oh so many gorgeous bedrooms. I love the large flowers on the wall and the cool storage. I would need to have the window seat. And I love the 4 poster bed. I actually had one for years as an adult. All my girlfriends little girls called it the Princess bed lol.

  3. Elements, you’ve hit the nail on the head. Our Big Girl would love any of these rooms, and she’s only 6! I’ve decided the ‘tweens’ start at 6 these days!!!!!!

  4. So glad my girls are past the tween stage but just love your images. They are divine..Thanks for the lamp advice ..have a lovely week Kym X

  5. We will soon be heading into tween stage so I will be waiting with bated breath to see what you have come up with. I really like these rooms. I like the floating desk and the colours are great.

  6. When I helped my sister with the design of her tween daughter’s room, I find it very dramatic and chic just like the designs of these rooms. However, what I appreciated was the ample storage space my sister allotted so that the room will not look very cluttered.
