Thursdays a few of my favourite things.

Some of you may not know this but I love Elephants.
In fact I named my business (Elements) because I was rhyming with it and decided it was good luck.
I find its one of those Animals that has a certain feel to its styling though and most people associate it with Asian or Balinese decorating.
For me I added pieces around my Elephants to make them feel at home.
Could I possibly be the Crazy Elephant Lady one day.
No probably not, for starters they are never strays running around the neighbourhood and you can’t adopt them from the local Elephant Haven because they have so many.
I thought I would share with you how stylish this giant good luck charm can be in Interior Design.
White wicker Elephant stand perfect for your beach theme.
Something a little kitsch and vintage
For good luck, protection and strength to the household place a statue of an Elephant in the front entrance, do not face it out the door however.
Elephants are referred to as “the elephants of many blessings” and they should always have their trunks facing upwards as this means prosperity, good luck and victory although elephants with their trunks facing down represent longevity and conception.

The direction of the trunk can effect the chi within your space so its important to choose an elephant that will bring the right energy to your room.

There are no elephants in this pic but I had to show you how cute this outdoor area is.

I am not sure about his friends but this cute little light is perfect for a children’s night light.

You could have a great chat in this vintage room but you couldn’t possibly ignore the Elephant in the room.

There is something about this room. I love it and hate it equally.
I could pick it to pieces but I could put it back together again.

  1. Wow, so much elephant love! They are lovely animals, though, I agree. Like that fun wallpaper too. Jane @ the girl in the brick house.

  2. Mmmm, the elephant lady, your gonna have to get some acreage to support this animal collection, LOL! I will remember the thing about the direction the trunk points, I have 4 children so increasing my chance for conception is not an option. I saw some lovely tin style elephants in a store yesterday that took my eye actually!

  3. Rofl- well you learn something new about your friends every day. I had a giggle over the giant red elephant. I actually would love the Elephant night light for a little one’s bedroom.
