I have decided my stairwell is the perfect area for my family and wedding pics and I have culled the amount and who gets the special spot.
Above is the final outcome and below is what it was previously.
There is much debate about how to and where to hang your family or wedding photos.
There is no doubt these images are special and are usually quite and investment.
….but creating the right mix the, right amount and the right layout are very important.
When I was 1st married my wedding pics took centre stage in my home, which is only fair.
As I got older my style didn’t include my wedding photos as I only had so many “guest viewed” walls and I wanted to show my style more and me kissing my husband less.
Not that theres anything wrong with that.
Above your bed is perfect for your personal images
I am still Not sure about personal pics in the dining room but it all depends on the selection and placement
Then your children come along and its time to get creative with showing them off.
Again when my son 1st cam along I got the biggest pic I could find and I spent a fortune so I wanted everyone to see it…
Now what happens if I have another baby…do I have to get the same size will they feel less important if their pic is smaller…..oh the questions…Looks like I am in for another small fortune when that bub comes along….and no that is not anytime soon, so family can stop being excited.

Dutch by design..Passe Partout clock
You could put small personal pics in this cute clock in the kitchen.
Where do you have your family or wedding photos?
I love how you displayed your family snaps. I enjoyed your inspiration pics aswell. I would like to do something like this in my new home, not sure where tho, I have teenagers & they think it would be embarrasing to display baby snaps of them, LOL!!!
Great job! I would have had a wall full of holes…
An interesting post. You don’t tend to see many family photos in homes now – see to have gone out of vogue. I have one large frame of our wedding in Fiji and it includes pictures of the boys too, so that suits us. I don’t think I will be putting any others around the house.
Great pics and I LOVE that clock! As to where to hang family photos -I don’t think it matters where so long as you don’t overdo it. Jane (the girl in the brick house)
Luckily My hubby is a perfectionist who plans the layout with me and then measures 3 times before putting in the screws and the smaller frames are 3m velcro…removable :)
Thanks for popping in.
