Hi, I’m Kristie! I have called myself many things during my creative career.

I was a fashion store manager, major food chain merchandiser, Department Store Merchandiser and Freedom store Merchandiser and then a Professional Interiors Blogger.

It took me a few years to tell my friends and family that was my job title but once I embraced it, good things started to happen. While blogging I worked in Furniture Design, Centre Visual Merchandising, Display Home Design and on to being involved exclusively in Interior Design, Styling and Colour Consulting.

I love design and interiors and the buit form. I also love to add a touch of humour to the very serious design world. Corner me in a room and I will talk to you about design for days as I love all aspects of it. If you didn’t love design before I will try and convince you and teach you why its worth appreciating now.

Professionally I spent 12 years in Visual Merchandising enjoying the world of styling and retail focused design and its many diversities, since then I have hosted design workshops, written content for major design brands, worked at Laminex, Caesarstone, Kantili Tiles and DCD and most recently I have decided to close my Interior Design business and I have landed at Polytec and I am in love with my role helping people with anything I can so they feel empowered within their interior design decisions.

I guess you could say I have a thirst for all design knowledge and its implications.

About My Blog

Elements at Home started in 2009 focusing on my personal building and renovating experiences which soon found me documenting anything related to Design, Architecture, Decorating, Furniture and Homewares as well as the Designers and Artisans that create everything for the home.

Personally I am energised by anything with an eclectic, quirky and mid-century form. I am in love with Paint colours and how they transform a space and the feel that colour brings you when it’s around. I study white paint and all of its tones and I spend many hours helping people find the exact right white for their space. You can read more about paint here. Its and oldie but a goodie

I have just included a Lifestyle page as part of the blog as we all understand the link between fashion and interiors is too big to ignore. You will find guest appearances and inspiration to show you how interior design trends are a direct invitation from the fashion world in how to move forward with colour, pattern, texture and style.

You can find out more about how to be featured or if you want to collaborate email me for my Media Kit.
